Dealing with Autism ugh

Typical Sunday morning I hear the same words over and over I'm  hungry, I'm bored there is nothing to do why is everything so boring?? Noah wakes up always early on the weekends never sleeps in so my days seem to be draining and long. What I really want to know is why can he not talk about anything else besides video games? why do all our conversations have to be about mario? Mario this and Mario that so much Mario I just want to yell and scream at him and tell him to stop. Yet I know thats not an answer. All I have ever wanted for my kiddo is to succeed in life, school, and in every other area in life. He has such issues with social problems and it is not going to get any easier as he gets older. We are working with a therapist so I hope in time things start to get better I am trying so hard to be his advocate but im slowly losing energy doing this myself  I need some advice someone help me books, websites, something

  1. Officially it has not been diagnosed however that is what they are leaning towards if that makes any sense.

  3. Hey Amy--you definitely need to get his dr. to refer you to some parent support groups. You are NOT the only parent out there dealing with this, and DEFINITELY not the only single parent. You can't just "lean towards it" as a dr. and not give the parent some resource to cope! There are also a lot of things on line--just google.
